St. Edward High School - Championship Banners for the Ages.
When St. Edward High School (SEHS) completed their long-overdue gymnasium renovation, they faced a unique challenge. Known for their powerhouse athletic programs and a history of excellence, SEHS had earned more state-championship banners than their newly renovated rafters could hold. With a proud legacy dating back to the 1950s, the school wanted to honor their champions while leaving space for future victories. That’s where Woodshed stepped in.
See the project below.
Overview
St. Edward High School (SEHS), an elite, private, all-boys high school renowned for its dominant athletic programs, recently completed a long-overdue renovation of their gymnasium.
Challenges
To commemorate their legacy of athletic excellence, the school wanted to display every state- and national-championship banner earned over the last 75 years.
With their rafters filling up and more championships on the horizon, SEHS needed a solution to showcase their achievements while making room for future victories.
SEHS had accumulated more state-championship banners than their newly renovated gym could accommodate.
Solutions
Woodshed was tasked with the careful recreation of 71 championship banners. Our solution involved scaling the banners down slightly in size, ensuring they maintained the same historical look and feel, while fitting within the gym’s new layout.
The goal was to preserve the integrity and legacy of each banner, allowing all to be displayed without sacrificing room for future championships.
Execution
Woodshed meticulously reproduced every banner, from the oldest dating back to the 1950s to the most recent in the early 2020s.
By slightly reducing the size of each banner, SEHS was able to proudly fly all banners, leaving ample room in the rafters for future victories.
The result is a gymnasium that showcases a rich legacy of success while providing space for many more celebrations to come.
