World-renowned rock & roll concert photographer turned to Woodshed to complete a 360° project that included design, printing, and fulfillment, as well as an accompanying rebrand, website overhaul and webstore development.

Overview:
Janet Macoska — celebrated concert photoragher, author, and speaker — came to us with an idea to design and produce a limited-edition wall calendar featuring some of her favorite shots of music legends.
Janet has cultivated a reputation as one of the world’s premier live music photographers — her work has been on display at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, The Grammy Museum, and several other exhibitions around the world.
Challenges:
While Janet had previously licensed her images, she had never taken on a project of this magnitude and needed help executing design, production, web development, and order fulfillment.
Solutions:
Our in-house creative team consulted with the artist and provided a personal rebrand as well as art direction, layout and design of the calendar; we also completely redesigned her website, adding an e-commerce web store. Our solutions included:
Rebranding: A redesign of the artist’s logo and curated color palette.
Website redesign: A complete overhaul of the artist’s website to match her new branding, with the addition of a managed ecommerce web store.
Print Design: Complete art direction, image editing, page layout, and graphic design
Print Production: Completely managed production run of 1,000 wall calendars
Custom Package Curation: Careful selection of e-commerce packaging
Web Order Fulfillment: Warehousing, inventory, order fulfillment, and tracking
Execution:
Our production department also managed the full-color 1,000-piece print run, ensuring the final product lived up to the artist’s expectations and delivered a memorable product for her customers — just in time for holiday sales.
Through our fulfillment program, we provided everything from packaging to warehousing, inventory, shipping labels, and post-shipment order tracking, for a truly white-gloved experience.
Impact:
In just 3 months, Janet’s new website converted over 10x the industry average, with nearly half the industry benchmark for abandoned-cart instances, and recouping her design & print investment within just 34 days.
Her freshly redesigned logo, brand image, and website bolstered the artist’s confidence and opening doors to new speaking and book opportunities.
With the help of Woodshed, Janet was able to sell a professionally-designed and printed wall calendar just in time for the holidays. Her calendar was distributed at the The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and orders were fulfilled to fans across the country.
All of this made for a relatively hands-off experience for the artist, allowing her to focus solely on sales and promotion.
